Fashion For Action 2011

Fashion For Action is an annual fashion-centric benefit for Housing Works. Tapping in to NYC’s garment industry, this gala and clothing sample sale had all the needs of a traditional fundraising event as far as needing stylish invitations and programs, but also functioned as a pop-up shop after the opening night, necessitating temporary wayfinding and staff tee-shirts.

The visual theme of the event’s design was a riff on clothing patterns—I deconstructed the typeface of the logo and blocked it out in large swaths, much the way a sewing pattern would. The result was a versatile and variable repeat-pattern of the logo to use on collateral that paid subtle homage to the fashion industry.
